Room 710 Coffee Table Book in the Works; Publisher Needed

bloody snare photo by Danny GOn August 2, a Red River institution will close its doors for good. Room 710 has been hosting live music almost nightly in Austin's rock music district for about a decade now. The club has a reputation for hosting crazy metal and punk shows, but 710 has seen a variety of genres represented on its stage. There have been many memorable moments, and there to capture many of them from the start was musician and photographer Danny G. Check out the photo to the left. That snare belongs to Kenny Wagner from Super Heavy Goat Ass. Things got super heavy on this night in 2007. It's just one of thousands of color and black-and-white photos that Danny G has amassed over the years.

Another local photog, Triniti Young, pitched him on the idea of composing a coffee table book full of these uniquely 710 moments. They spoke with Room 710 owner Asher Garber about the idea, and now the three are working on the book. The only ingredient missing is a big one: a publisher. Danny G recently solicited ideas on MySpace for potential publishers. If you know of any who would be interested in a Room 710 photo book, contact Danny on MySpace or comment below. Personally, I can't wait to see what they come up with.

In the meantime, check out this insightful Q&A that the Austinist conducted with Garber: click here (opens in new window)
