Episode#11: The Bread

Tuesday nights at Hole In The Wall belong to The Bread. This punk/folk/country/badass trio plays the Hole frequently, which makes sense since one of the band members tends bar there. Few bands have the power to make an entire room go nuts and succumb to a manic celebratory frenzy. The Bread is one of those bands. I've seen them a handful of times at the Hole and each time a table got flipped over, someone took a hard spill, or a pint glass got shattered. The music is awesome, don't get me wrong. But the real appeal of a Bread show is the strong sense camaraderie, spirit, and family (drunken, dysfunctional family!). You see a lot of familiar faces, always singing along and raising a Lone Star in salute. These guys are part of the East Cameron family, a group of about a half-dozen bands that live and create in northeast Austin. Check out the whole bunch, because they all kick ass: The Van Buren Boys, Bridge Farmers, Best Love In Town, Bankrupt and the Borrowers (featured last week), The Correction Brothers, Hobomouth, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some (forgive me).

Filmed October 21, 2008 at Hole In The Wall on Guadalupe St and Dean Keaton.

Songs:
1. "12 Gates"
